Our School Goals

At Jarvis Traditional, we have had a school goal focus of Math over the last few years. Our staff have observed that our community has enhanced their mathematical practices by learning innovative strategies and have become proficient in targeted intervention through the program of Math Minds.

As a school community, this year we have decided to use the Spiral Of Inquiry to lean into a hunch of Emotional Education, while working through the umbrella of Executive Functioning. We want to explore ways to improve self-regulation and student behaviour, all while learning strategies to critically think and become independent in our work habits.

Our Action Steps:

• Professional Development Days and Lunch & Learns with a focus on SEL (Social Emotional Learning)
• School wide action of tracking behaviour to monitor patterns of behaviour
• Monthly assemblies that bring the community together to reinforce social responsibility and highlight positive behaviour practices
