Week at a Glance – May 18 – 22

District Track Meet

  • Congratulations to all of our athletes that participated in the district track meet this week at NDSS. We are so proud of all our athletes who participated in the track season this year!
  • A big thank you to our staff that helped run practices and try outs and a bigger thank you for those staff that came to the track meets.
  • We had over 60 students attend the district track meet
  • GO JAGUARS!

Locked Front Doors

  • Starting May 19th our front doors will be locked all day
  • Grade 6/7 monitors will bring your child’s lunch down to the classroom at 12:00
  • Any lunches that are after the 12:00 pick up will have to be eaten by 12:50.
  • An email went out about this Wednesday and a letter was sent home weeks ago.
  • Thank you in supporting our new system to help increase safety around the school.

May Sharing Assembly

  • Our May Sharing assembly will be happening on May 22 at 11:00 in the gym.
  • Parents are invited to watch!

Freezie Sales

  • Freezie Sales will continue every Tuesday for $2
  • Thank you for supporting our school with our fundraiser for outdoor learning supplies and our school mural!

Weather Change

  • As the weather starts to change to warmer weather, please ensure students are coming to school dressed for the weather. This means sunscreen and hats and that they have a water bottle at school.

 Parent Appreciation Morning

  • Please join us in celebrating YOU, our parent community!
  • On May 22nd, staff will be outside prior to 9:00 am handing out muffins as a token of our appreciation to you! Without your support, we would not be able do what we do for the kids!
  • Desy’s class and the choir will also be singing at the back field at 8:50. Please come and listen and start your day in a cheerful way!

Parking Lot Applications

Each year, parking lot applications will have to be filled out by the community in order to receive a parking pass

 Sports Day Concession Sign Up

  • Our Sports Day is June 12 from 9-2:30.
  • One of the biggest fundraisers for the school is our Sports Day concession
  • The PAC will purchase items for sale, however we need support from parents to volunteer 30-40 minutes of the day for a block to help sell items throughout the day
  • I will have a sign up for two weeks outside the front door
  • If you are able to sign up to help sell items, could you please write your name and I will contact you prior to Sports Day
  • We can’t do it without you so thank you for your support! It takes a village!

 Spirit Day

  • Our next Spirit Day is May 21st
  • The theme is “Dress like An Athlete Day”
  • To kick off FIFA 2026 and celebrate Track Season being done, dress up in your favourite athletic wear or sports jerseys!
